Definition of Success

I didn't have time to collect my thoughts for this week's intro. It was babysitting night Thursday night. While my wife and daughters were watching the play Le Miserables, my son-in-law and I were playing with my two hyper grandkids. I was able to escape and finished this issue with just enough time before midnight.

The boys must have had sugar in their veins -- a barrel of fun with unrestrained daredevil antics. Jumping, screaming, running --- excited because grandpa was visiting. I wonder how their parents manage with all that excitement every single day. But you know what? I enjoyed it. Maybe that's why I volunteer to take care of the kids in Sunday School. It's a big challenge but I just love kids.

Last Saturday I volunteered to do caricatures for a Boy Scout conference. The line was long. Got home exhausted but glad to have made so many kids happy.

This weekend I'll turn into a kid again because I'm watching James Taylor with family and two of my favorite clients. If there is one musician I have been accused of mimicking, that would be James. He was the one who inspired me to pick up the guitar. I saw him perform live once in Central Park, New York City. I remember my friends and I staked our space about 3 hours early and we were already a basketball court length away. I thought I was far but midway through the concert, I looked around and there was a sea of people that covered every single space of Central Park. Several were up on the trees. That's why I'm so looking forward to this concert.

Life is exciting here in sunny California Southland. Life is good. Praise God!

Words of Wisdom

Ever wonder why there is a stairway to heaven, and a highway to hell? There's apparently more traffic going to hell.

When U Black, U Black
Contributed by Dave of New York

According to the sender, this was written by a black gentleman in Texas. What a great sense of humour ... and creative!!!

When I was born, I was BLACK.
When I grew up, I was BLACK.
When I went in the sun, I stayed BLACK.
When I got cold, I was BLACK.
When I was scared, I was BLACK.
When I was sick, I was BLACK.
And when I die, I'll still be BLACK.

Now, you 'white' folks ...

  When you're born, you're PINK.
  When you grow-up, you're WHITE.
When you go in the sun, you get RED.
When you're cold, you turn BLUE.
  When you're scared, you're YELLOW.
When you get sick, you're GREEN.
When you bruise, you turn PURPLE.
And when you die, you look GREY.

So why y'all be callin' us COLORED Folks?

Brain Test
Contributed by Tom of Pasadena, CA

Count every "F" in the following text:

Count them again.

WRONG! THERE ARE 6 -- no joke!

Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 'F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind this: The brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what?

Anyone who counts all 6 'F's on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Send this to your friends. It will drive them crazy and keep them occupied for several minutes.

New 84" HDTV
Contributed by Don of Kelowna, B.C.

This is a combination prank and commercial for the widest HDTV to date. With definition so real, it fooled a lot of people --- do I sound like a commercial or what?

Golf Cliff Hanger
Contributed by Charlie of New York

GOlf cliffhanger

They say this was the slowest moving golf ball ever. If you love golf, you'll enjoy this one.

The Land that Made Me Me

Memories: The lasnd that made me me

If you're a boomer you can relate to this. Life was so innocent then. Just a few media powers controlled what people viewed for entertainment. It was like the whole world was a little town. Now we are more global and censorship is out the window.

This Solar Invention Can Change the World
Contributed by Charlie of New York

Solar Road

No kidding, this is a major move to change the world (the roads to be specific) as we know it. What's exciting is, the change has already started.

Railroad for Movie

Okay, this ends our TGIF edition for this Friday. If you're like me, I can't wait for the weekend. And if you are feeling depressed about life, think about this little kid who has a simple prayer ... for God to open his eyes so he can rejoice at the beauty of His creation.

TGIF people!
