Hi Raoul: To help your grandchildren with Mother's Day, the best thing you can do is encourage them to get mother's Day cards. I guarantee you their mother or grandmother will keep it for the rest of their lives. I can never buy a card that has anything written inside of it cuz they never say what I want to say so I send buy blank cards and write in whatever sentiments and things that I appreciate in the person that I'm giving the card to.

Unfortunately, my grandchildren have planned a luncheon on Sunday. The first thing I thought of when I was told about this was why can't we do it on Saturday instead of Sunday because mother's Day in a restaurant is a complete zoo and this one is a brunch so you've got to help yourself! But I'm going in spite of that

Mother’s Day. I wish my mother was here. She passed on January 1, 2000.

The coldest day of my life. She passed at home. Do you know the song, “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.” I associate it with my mother’s passing.

We too are going to a funeral this Sunday. A lovely woman from our church passed a few weeks ago.

She was 92 years old. She spoke English. Came to the States after the Korean War.

I know your TGIF emails are light hearted, but this one made me reflect on the day for Mothers.
