I don’t sing, really. I can’t read a note. But I used to be able to name a song with one note, or two. I like songs of every genre. Crave for opera at times or even rap, rock. I am however, critical about sound quality. Thanks you for today’s topic.

Hotter Than Mother’s Music

Ah, something we both love. MUSIC!!

I remembered when the Beatles appeared on Ed Sullivan in 1964. In America, we had different albums than in Britain. Meet the Beatles, Something New, Early Beatles.

For 45’s, She Loves You was on Decca, not Capital.

In the Midwest, The Beach Boys were not popular. Too California. We couldn’t relate to Surfing.

Where I grew up the local record store was called, Hotter Than Mother’s Music. Only vinyl, and also stereo components. Turntables, speakers, etc.

Do you remember the Rock Band, Yes. Prog Rock. They had a keyboardist named Rick Wakeman. He has an album that had all this moog synthesized riffs. It was the best test album for speakers.

I still have all my vinyl.

I played the trumpet, as you know, but I was no Herb Alpert. More like a bugle player in a Marching Band.

Music soothes The Savage beast in all of us. I love listening to the music that I grew up on and that started in the early 1940's. First with popular music followed closely by classical which is still my very favorite and it's the way I start my day. PS: I HATE rap!

Thanks Raoul, loved your comments on Music. Singing in a choir for so long , I can look at the sheet of music and hear it in my head. Gives me a feeling of elation. I am vacated in Carlsbad at the Pacfic Resorts waiting to be able to get back in my home that survived the devastation. This is a wonderful Place to be!
