In reply to <a href="https://travelingboy.com/adventure/first-love-encounter/#comment-933">Lois</a>.

Glad you liked the video. I sent Ai my rough recording and AI mimicked my voice in the beginning but when it started reaching those high notes, that could never be me. Did you like the Tagalog portion? Did you read the captions? If not, you need to turn it on when you watch it in YouTube. The English version doesn't quite capture the nuances. The Tagalog words are mostly from Michael (the guy who inspired the song) but I don't remember where his ends and mine begins - remember, that was way back in 1979. The melody and arrangement was mostly mine. AI also generated the images. Wasn't perfect but I edited it to fit.

I am working on the email program. I might use yet another program. It was a nightmare getting this one out because the program was AI based and this version had little "intelligence."

Again this week I found your newsletter in my junk folder. Are you working on getting this fixed? I’m concerned that many of your readers are missing out on your discourse and wisdom each week because TGIF isn’t in their inbox.

Now about the video. It blew me away! I’m confused as to how much of this was your creation and how much AI. And the beautiful voices — were they AI generated? Were you singing at all? The accompaniment was beautiful, too, as well as the volume changes and inflections. Everything about it was perfect.

As I remember the demonstration you gave us, I'm assuming that you contributed the words and concepts and AI did all the rest. Right?

Thanks for your feedback and compliment Larry.

Glad you were able to see the link to the website version. I might have to do this every time from now on because the long emails are being flagged as spam by many email servers. We';; see.

I will look into those Chicago musicians. Never heard of any of them.

Neither have I heard about South Korea's political problem. Turning COMMUNIST?! I think this is a last ditch concerted effort by people who want to grab power just like Stalin did. We are dealing with both physical and spiritual warfare.

Not sure about Imelda caring Ferdinand's name on gold but wouldn't be surprised.

Yes. I did go to Traveling Boy to finish the email.

We both share a love for music. I am going to list some Chicago based musicians you should listen to.

Bill Quateman
John Prine
Steve Goodman

You have real talent to create music. I am really just a fan.

I had mentioned South Korea in last week’s response to this email. You think because they export K-Pop, Samsung Electronics and computer games, they are doing well.

No.

I was speaking with a friend of mine at church on Tuesday night. The South is moving towards communism. The history of military leadership after the war is full of repression and oppression and murder.

Maybe 35,000 students in Kwangju. In the 70‘s, Park Chung Hee suspended the constitution.

I want to congratulate you on your tech knowledge. AI and new programs.

I am stuck back in the Stone Age in comparison.

I bring my traveling NIV Bible to every church service and take notes. That’s my way of engaging in the church service.

Someone told me recently that Ferdinand Marcos was in the Guinness Book of World Records for taking the most gold bars out of a country. Is this true?

Also, that Imelda carved Ferdinand’s name on to gold.

I don’t drink beer anymore. I used to like Mexican beers, but no longer.

Keep on singing and dancing and you’ll be fine.

I love how you always pick the strangest places to visit. I couldn't help but remember the movie "The Untouchables."

Did you know that during the prohibition era, San Antonio wineries kept afloat by selling Communion Wine? It's true. I heard this from the owners themselves.

I liked the article. I liked how you cleverly combined “Pride and Prejudice,” our country’s founding, your dog, your leadership of the homeowners association, and hamburgers. As you’ve probably noticed, that’s my writing style, too.

We The People

I must admit. I never saw the film Pride and Prejudice. I am not really a film buff. It’s a Wonderful Life would be my favorite.

God Bless Us All.

Now to American History. I value what our forefathers did.

The Constitution is an amazing document. It starts with “We the People”. We being the most importantl word.

We as a populace have a responsibility to address issues in this country. I want people to debate issues and take a more active role in government.

Too much apathy in this country. We as citizens have a responsibility to participate in democracy.

I have been watching documentaries on Korea. The North is a travesty. The Kim family is as bankrupt of morals as any.

Kim Chong Il killed his Uncle.

The South is not much better. Park Chong Hee suspended the constitution.

The Military leaders committed atrocities. They still don’t know how many people were killed when the government cracked down on student protesters in the city of Kwangju. Maybe as many as 30,000.

Back to the U.S. What does it say on the dollar. “In God We Trust.”

I want people to understand their responsibility in a democracy. Our society needs more people to participate.

On a final side note. I marched in 4th of July parades playing my trumpet.

Every year the same song. Blaze of Glory.

TGIF and Happy 4th.
