We all have gifts. Some related to music, some to art, some to sports and physical activities. Others to writing or acting or other activities.

This verse comes to mind.

Christ has generously divided out His gifts to us.

Ephesians 4:7

Your gift of drawing caricatures and talking with people is something God given.

Father Confessor. Very good. People want to talk.

I learned that at an early age. Most of the people I spoke with as a child and young adult were born in 1894.

I don’t know if I told you about my friend Harvey. A Jewish man who taught art at an Adult School.

I met him in Descanso Gardens. He was born in New York in 1925. He was lonely and needed someone to talk to. Me.

I knew Harvey’s life story better than him. He died in 2016.

Such a sweet man. Miss him everyday.

Back to gifts. I believe it is our duty to use the gifts given by God to glorify God.

While gifts may be a persons work or enjoyment, there is a more serious need.

People need more than just money or food. They need Christ.

Hi Raoul,

You were talking about the Hilot. I truly believe in that. When one is young, the aches and pains- hopefully from playing sports- balewala yan..you just kick your foot-if it was an ankle problem- and off you go again. Growing older, I had some back pains and my sister referred me to this hilot in Pasig. It was actually a healing center and the owner had a number of trained hilots. Sabi nila, once a year, they make a pilgrimage to Mt Makiling (or Banahaw ba?) to renew their healing powers. And when they make hilot to you, they burp a number of times..Yun daw sign that they get the bad air out of you..I got instant healing talaga.. Every time I over strained myself, I would ask for the hilot to come..I had recommended her to some friends and all of them got positive results..lalo na yung french couple na searching everywhere in Manila for a a cure to the hubby's back pain. By chance I saw them looking for the spa in Rockwell for the hubby's back ..Sabi ko I have a better alternative .my hilot solved it..But of course they went there a number of times..

Then you talked about disclocating your finger in a basketball game. I too had that experience..I was given a hard pass..got the ball but it felt funny the way I was holding the ball..Yun pala my left ring finger was pointing skywards..hihimatayin na yata ako..I gripped my finger, pulled on it and snapped it back..of course, it was swollen for a couple of weeks...and I could not get my wedding ring off kasi bawal daw putulin..so, I suffered for much longer..( and suffering until now LOL!!) Pudeed na ba ako tawagin Dok Noel? hahahahaha.

So many ways people look for healing of whatever is going on physically with them.

Western Medicine focuses on the specific area of need and usually prescribes medication with many side effects

Medicine has its usefulness, but it only addresses the symptoms and doesn’t cure the disease.

Eastern medicine tries for a more holistic treatment. Understanding that any ailment is more complex and more difficult to cure with medication or treatments.

What we eat. How we live our lives is very important in a person’s overall health. Life style and life practices are very important and often very difficult to change.

American fast food and the consumption of soda and fried foods and other products is overall terrible for good health.

Bottom line. Healing. Where is the true healing?
The Bible tells of the healing power of prayer and the healing power of the Lord Jesus Christ and others who have learned from the Gospel about healing.

That Evening the people brought to him many who were demonized and by Jesus only speaking a word of healing over them, they were totally set free from their torment, and everyone who was sick received their healing.

Matthew 8:15

All the people were trying to touch Him because healing power was coming from Him and healing them all.

Luke 6:19

The true Healer is the Lord. Pray to the Lord for relief from sickness and suffering and be set free.
