Yesterday I had a long phone conversation with my oldest friend. We’ve known each other since childhood. She was losing a friend because of a difference in political views. I talked about my relationship with you and how we are able to disagree and still be friends. And now today’s newsletter is all about that subject. The video was thought-provoking and contained some great suggestions. I wonder, though, how people would react to repeatedly hearing: “What I hear you saying is . . .”

I am a very good listener. I bonded with elders when I was young, because I was willing to listen to them.

Conversation is an art. Throw away your ego and listen and respond and most importantly respect the person you are talking to.

Listen and learn and appreciate your time with others.
