Aching Towards Antiquity<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Thoughts of my age hit me again this week. You know you\u2019re getting old when your body starts sending you hate mail every morning. Popping joints, mystery aches, and a lower back that\u2019s staging a full-blown rebellion\u2014welcome to the daily grind of aging. I swear, I went to bed at 30 and woke up feeling like a creaky 80-year-old antique. Sound familiar?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I take 5 supplements each day yet my hair follicles refuse to propagate, my cholesterol seems to be best friends with my high blood pressure and hand in hand they tease my kidneys to do something about it. I don’t even know what my pancreas does but I know he’s losing his battle as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just the body, though. The world\u2019s conspiring to make me feel ancient. When I visit Twitter, there’s some 20-year-old raving about \u201cvibe-based crypto workouts.\u201d Vibe? My vibe is ibuprofen and a heating pad. When I try explaining \u201cdial-up internet\u201d to my grand kid, he looks at me like I invented the wheel. And don\u2019t get me started on trends\u2014my 90s lose slacks are today\u2019s \u201cvintage,\u201d and my wardrobe\u2019s officially a museum exhibit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, there\u2019s a weird charm to it. We trade youthful energy for wisdom (or at least better stories). So, here\u2019s to aging\u2014may our knees hold out, and may my TGIF posts keep us young at heart, even if our backs disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My belly\u2019s protruding again. Ugh! Time to visit the gym. Exercise! I hate it with a passion. Oh Lord! Take me! Take me now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is just silly ol’ me. TGIF people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just found out that Lois, a very dear friend of mine who is in her 90s got ill and almost passed away. Lois, I know you’re one of my biggest fans. This edition is dedicated to you. May the Lord Jesus bless you with a full recovery. May your love for Him grow with each borrowed day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
