Is That All There is?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is rare — I got a cold and a cough. I still haven\u2019t figured who the scoundrel is that gifted me with this virus; and maybe it\u2019s the meds but I feel like crawling back to bed to hibernate for a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So this got me thinking. Could I really just spend my time laying in bed the whole day? What if I\u2019m fully retired and have oodles of money to last me till my dying days, what would I do? For one thing, I\u2019m sure I won\u2019t waste my time in bed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many retirees I know travel. I’m happy for them. I can see how that would be fun for a while. Sure it will be interesting to smell, to walk, to feel, to taste the food of these different places but I\u2019m certain I\u2019d tire of that quickly. For me, there has to be something more than filling up my photo gallery with selfies. I’m not judging anyone \u2026 this is just me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember a song from the late 60\u2019s by Peggy Lee. The song is about a woman looking for meaning in life. She really doesn\u2019t find one. How sad. All the adventures that life has to offer and she asks herself: \u201cIs that all there is?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people have a bucket list of things to accomplish before they die. I don\u2019t. Do you? Do you have to climb Mount Everest? Skydive? Drive a Ferrari? Travel around the world?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, perhaps I do have one in my list — I want to teach kids all that I know to help them start a career and (more importantly) to teach them about my faith. It\u2019s a simple wish that will bring me so much joy — knowing that what I share will last for eternity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this is just me. What\u2019s in your list? TGIF people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
