It&#8217;s the end of the year when our ambitions jar with reality. I&#8217;m pretty sure this coming year will be extremely interesting. To prepare for the onslaught, I&#8217;ve prepared my list of ten resolutions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>I will start jogging at 5 AM every day.<\/strong><br>Because nothing says &#8220;I love my life&#8221; like waking up before the sun and running until I can&#8217;t feel my legs anymore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll only eat vegetables grown in my own backyard.<\/strong><br>Of course, this assumes I can suddenly turn into a master gardener, not just a serial plant killer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I will not use my phone at all during family dinners.<\/strong><br>Instead, I&#8217;ll engage in deep, meaningful conversations or stare awkwardly at everyone while they use their phones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll learn to play the violin.<\/strong><br>If &#8220;play&#8221; means &#8220;make noise that sounds like a cat in a blender.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll cut out all sugar.<\/strong><br>Right after I finish this chocolate bar, and the next one, and the one after that\u2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I will read one book a week.<\/strong><br>The catch is, they&#8217;ll all be comic books or cookbooks with lots of pictures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll become fluent in a new language.<\/strong><br>By the end of the year, I&#8217;ll be saying &#8220;Bonjour&#8221; to everyone, including my dog, because that&#8217;s about as far as I&#8217;ll get.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll meditate for an hour every day.<\/strong><br>Or at least, I&#8217;ll sit quietly for 5 minutes before remembering I left the stove on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll start composting.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which will end with me forgetting about it, only to find an indoor ecosystem thriving in my kitchen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I&#8217;ll do a digital detox every weekend.<\/strong><br>Which is code for &#8220;I&#8217;ll check my phone every 5 minutes to see if anyone noticed I&#8217;m doing a digital detox.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Aren\u2019t you glad New Year only comes once a year?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TGIF people!
