To get the most out of a port day, start thinking about it a few days (or weeks) in advance. Research your port stop before you set sail, and find out where the pier is relative to the main attractions. You\u2019ll also want to check how long it takes to reach the town center and what the port layout looks like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While some ports have nearby attractions, others are a little further from the action and require a shuttle or water taxi to get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you know the lay of the land, you need to decide what really matters to you. A day that\u2019s set aside for a beach trip is going to look very different from an itinerary that\u2019s built around a local food market stop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
