LIFE WITH KIDS

I didn't have time to collect my thoughts for this week's intro. It was babysitting night Thursday night. While my wife and daughters were watching the play Le Miserables, my son-in-law and I were playing with my two hyper grandkids. I was able to escape and finished this issue with just enough time before midnight.

The boys must have had sugar in their veins -- a barrel of fun with unrestrained daredevil antics. Jumping, screaming, running --- excited because grandpa was visiting. I wonder how their parents manage with all that excitement every single day. But you know what? I enjoyed it. Maybe that's why I volunteer to take care of the kids in Sunday School. It's a big challenge but I just love kids.

Last Saturday I volunteered to do caricatures for a Boy Scout conference. The line was long. Got home exhausted but glad to have made so many kids happy.

This weekend I'll turn into a kid again because I'm watching James Taylor with family and two of my favorite clients. If there is one musician I have been accused of mimicking, that would be James. He was the one who inspired me to pick up the guitar. I saw him perform live once in Central Park, New York City. I remember my friends and I staked our space about 3 hours early and we were already a basketball court length away. I thought I was far but midway through the concert, I looked around and there was a sea of people that covered every single space of Central Park. Several were up on the trees. That's why I'm so looking forward to this concert.

Life is exciting here in sunny California Southland. Life is good. Praise God!
