It’s interesting that I shared your dislike of my birthdays.

Like you, I remember that my parents forgot my birthdays. Most of the time, mom was only reminded when my grandmother’s birthday telegrams arrived.

My husband thinks that rather than hating my birthday— I hated to hope and be disappointed.

He has changed my mind about my birthday because he celebrates my birthday my whole birthday month. He gives me daily birthday cards; he puts up birthday banners around our home; and on the day itself, we take off from work and celebrate with close friends. Last month, he brought party hats and brought colorful markers for coloring them; we wore our hats in the restaurant as I opened my gifts. (Later, we gave away our hats to children in the next table who looked longingly at our hats).

Good Morning Raoul. TGIF 🙏🇺🇦 it’s hard to remember everyone’s birthday even with the reminders on social media and I try and put them all on my calendar and sometimes I still forget 😂😂😂 I don’t get but hurt if someone forgets my birthday but yes it feels good when someone remembers it too . I just thank God I made it another year. I’m sure right now the people of Ukraine are hoping for a happy miracle rather than a happy birthday . We have it good here in the USA Let’s pray for the less fortunate and hope we never have to see foreign military troops walking our streets and busing us to who knows where 😬🙏🙏🙏

I can relate to your birthday story and about growing up not wanting the spotlight. Years past when I walked to school with my younger sister I felt so proud when people make comments about how pretty she is! And yes, sometimes I forget my birthday and get so much cold shoulders for forgetting somebody’s.
