I have always loved La Jolla Shores – next to my home town of San Diego CA. Beautiful beach, large rocks, shore break, surfing. Gorgeous.

This reminds me of my many, many walks on Ogunquit beach in Maine. It is probably the least exotic and my most walked beach, but I didn’t think of it for the article. One day, after a storm on my daily walk, I spied a ship’s hull in the sand. A local, my neighbor, said it was a rare sighting of one of the old barges sunk to preserve the sand dunes many years before. Sweet memory – thanks for reminding me of it.
