The Other Side<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

I fell asleep watching the news. I woke up in the middle of the night with a silly song about the craziness of people “gaslighting” (confusing reality) and pointing fingers at each other for the socioeconomic mess we’re in. Let\u2019s do a little experiment. Which political party does this song describe?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s what I’ve written so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VERSE 1
I walk among a crowded world of egotistical elites<\/em>
Who prance around like peacocks pretending to be chic.<\/em>
They make up facts and lie and cheat.<\/em>
They love to seem compassionate<\/em>
They take credit and they edit<\/em>
thinking we\u2019re too dumb to see through their conceit.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHORUS
They’re delusional, confusional,<\/em>
So utterly fictitional —<\/em>
A reality that only they believe.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These illogically laughable,
highly irresponsible ideas
from so-called “geniuses” conceived.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I was writing this, it dawned on me that any political side could claim the song perfectly describes their opposition. Isn’t that strange? But isn’t that so true? The other guys are always guilty. We’re never wrong. And that in itself is wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s clear why it’s hard to talk politics with the other side \u2026 whichever side that may be. Hmmmm \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
