Raoul’s Two Cents: April 12, 2024<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Sick as a Dog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m sick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been coughing and have been feeling weak since Sunday. I suspect some hyperactive kid laced the stair rail with some virus. I was actually conscious about touching the rails but I (being the old geezer that I am) figured I\u2019d rather get sick than fall down the stairs. So, here I am sick as a refugee in a Sanctuary City. I should have washed my hands when I got to the top of the floor but I was already late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doctor who attended to me said I caught a virus and I had an allergy. I\u2019m concerned that the allergy is from our fluffy corgis who shed their hair like desert tumbleweeds. He gave me three meds. So I\u2019m drowsy, weak and developing a runny nose. I guess I won\u2019t be donning my superhero costume tonight. Those feeble old ladies will have to fend for themselves this evening — Superman needs to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the national news: <\/strong>there was a solar eclipse. OJ Simpson is dead. The minimum wage of Fast Food workers is now $20 an hour. Several stores have filed bankcruptcy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the local news: <\/strong>I have a new granddaughter. She\u2019s in New York so I can\u2019t visit her just yet. She was so in a hurry to get out, she plopped into humanity right there at the hospital curb just as Mom stepped out of the Uber car. All\u2019s fine. Mother and daughter are safe and sound at their Manhattan apartment. God is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feeling sleepy. I need to rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
