An Exercise in Excercise
It’s almost midnight. Almost time to send this email out and I’m not feelin’ that well.
Earlier I decided to fulfill one of my New Year’s Resolution — to get back in shape — so I went to the gym. Did some brisk walking … upper body exercises and squats. I felt those unfamiliar muscles waking from their months of slumber. Proud of myself for accomplishing this because exercise for the sake of exercise was never a favorite pastime.
Basketball — running, shooting, banging into bodies, matching skills with my fellow Neanderthals — now that’s my kind of macho exercise. Oogah! Woogah! But walking, carrying silly metallic weights — what is that?!? Where’s the fun in that?!? Oh the silliness of people coming here to commune with these impersonal steel mechanical contraptions! Are you kidding me?
Looking around I’m noticing several of my fellow gray haired individuals huffing and puffing. Everyone seemed to be looking for that elusive fountain of youth. Impressed at some who look trim and dedicated. Others look like me — grudgingly pathetic!
I looked at my watch. It was time to go. Muscles a little taut and slightly tired. That’s enough of this nonsense. Wasted a full half hour of life.
Later this evening, I’m feeling nauseous. Head’s heavy. A little discumbobulated (Impressed? I had to look up the spelling of that word — he he!). Man, did someone leave a virus in the gym? Off with his head!!
My wife comes home. Feels my temperature and says I should take a pill. At least I know I’m not imagining things. But I have to say hello to you guys. It’ll be Friday tomorrow. I can’t let you down.
Seriously, may your Friday be fun and fulfilling. May the good Lord shower you with blessings.

Also keep in mind
Exercise doesn’t need to include weights or any other physical activity YOU DONT like ???
It could be any of your sports, but just do it for at least a 1/2 .
I was a strong boxer with a knock out punch and I never lifted weights because I get so bored.
But I always sparred and ran a lot .

Hi Raoul: taking a walk everyday is the order of business demanding your muscles to come alive after they’ve been in slumber is a bad idea. The scariest thing of all is that you could fall after doing a workout like that and then you have a broken wrist or concussion or some ridiculous thing you don’t want. Anyway take aspirin rest.
