Wars and Rumors of War
There’s been a lot of talk about war these past weeks — violence here in the US, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. Many spread rumors with fake authority turning their victims into nervous wrecks.
If you are familiar with the Matrix movie, there are two worlds that co-exist – the blue pill world and the red pill world. Our world (where we exist) is supposed to be the blue pill world — a façade – a fake but more palatable world. On the other hand, the red pill world is the dark reality of the evil around us. Given a choice, what pill would you take?
What if I told you that these two worlds actually exist? Shocked?! Grab your popcorn.
GOOD GUYS
In a battlefield not too far from us are two soldiers in a foxhole.
Soldier 1: I’m scared. Did you see the size of the other army?
Soldier 2: Don’t let that bother you. I’ve been in worse situations. I know you don’t believe in religious talk but would you like to hear a story about a prophet named Elisha?
Soldier 1: If it’ll help calm my nerves, sure. Let’s hear it.
Soldier 2: In 2 Kings 6: 15-17 of the Bible, it says this:
When the servant of the man of God (Elisha) got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.
“Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Bada bing bada boom! Did you get it? The servant had lost hope — thinking they were outnumbered but they were actually surrounded and protected by a more powerful angelic army. If you are worried about the escalation outside, remember there is a spiritual army that is already engaged. The good guys always win. Are you still worried?
Soldier 1: Well, yeah! What if I’m not one of the good guys?
Soldier 2: Good point! Here’s a blue pill to calm you down.

Of course this is just me trusting that God is in control. Relax. TGIF people!
