Movie Endings

I had an interesting talk with my Japanese-American friend during my Monday breakfast meeting. She said (growing up) her parents were so strict about their bedtime; even if the movie they were watching was not yet finished, they had to go to sleep already. Her parents said you can draw up your own conclusions. So she usually imagines happy endings. This pattern stayed with her all her life. To this day she has no clue of the endings of many movies she has partially watched. But because she grew up with “happy endings,” she has a positive view of life — she’s always smiling (there’s a lesson here as well).

I thought that was weird. But as I was flipping through movie titles on TV (deciding which one I’d waste the next 3 hours of my life with) I realized I’ve seen so many movies and I couldn’t remember how they ended either.

It’s either I’m weird too or I’m turning Japanese … I really think so.

But this is just me. TGIF people!

If someone is over 39 they have the same problem. I don’t know if I watched a movie before until it starts running and I think “oh yeah been there done that!” It’s good we adjust.
I’ve been watching a series called the Craftsman. I have watched it several times and I called the business to see if it was available to buy the series and the owner of the business answer the phone! My oldest son started working at a wood working business when he was about 16 after school. I told the owner I wanted to know if I could buy the series for my son because where he lives in Kentucky they don’t have internet. Happily he told me it’s on YouTube! So I called my son and we been talking about the series for a while and he said he’d check it out. It’s worth your time because Eric Hollenbeck (the owner) does more than woodworking. He
shares his life and his wisdom.

Being Vacated has been interesting as my neighbors are here as well. Our conversations more frequent and one that lives across the street from me! We would wave at each other but little conversation is here and I found out She is District Attorney and the stories are Great.
I hate to admit it but vacating is fun.

    You Are Not Turning Japanese!
Very short today. My parents wouldn’t let me stay up past 9:00.

I desperately wanted to watch late night TV. Especially, the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

Do you remember Doc Severison? He was the band leader and trumpet player. You know I played the trumpet. He had a silver trumpet. I envied him.

The other popular trumpet player of the 1960’s. He was mote brassy. I like a bright tone and a rich tone.

Here is your homework. Jazz trumpet players worth checking out.

    Clifford Brown
    Lee Morgan
    Woody Shaw
    Booker Little.
