Living in Babylon

Warning: political and religious topic. Move on to the jokes if you’re not in the mood.

I must have written 2 pages worth of articles for today but I threw them away. I wanted to talk about how messed up our world is but I didn’t know where to begin.

This reminds me of an HOA community nearby that had neglected fixing their roofs and their roads for years. During the recent rains, I heard that almost all the roofs leaked and the runoff water created potholes. They have so many problems, they don’t know where to start fixing the mess. Our country’s in the same kind of mess. Well done politicians!

I thought about staying away from the news and social media. But then I wondered if it was better to close my eyes riding a bus swerving erratically. Is it better to be ignorant and wait for the crash? Nah!

The people driving this nation should have their licenses removed. Where do you start to fix the mess that they’ve given us? How do you even write about it?

So that’s my excuse for this very short article. I’m exasperated!

We’re going through the book of Daniel in our church. Daniel was captured by the Babylonian army when he was probably in his teens. We can assume he was raised by godly parents because Daniel never abandoned his faith even amidst the debauchery and temptations that surrounded him. He served in three different regimes and he did not just survive — he thrived and blessed the people that surrounded him. Let’s think like Daniel. Let’s be a beacon to this lost world.

TGIF people!

Amen to you commentary. We are remarkably in a mess in our country and it is having bad affects around the world. Even so, come November quickly, but let’s hope it gets better then.

TGIF! That’s why I make my own coffee. We need ti keep praying for better leaders (not perfect leaders but better in God’s eyes) everything can be fixed so easily around the world if we get leaders that actually have the conviction of the Lord.

You’re not alone in your exasperation. We share your sentiments. Our only tool, the ballot, hasn’t worked! Even that has been compromised.

The HOA is like the government — both fail for lack of leadership and poor management. TGIF!
