Blue Jeans

The news and conversations are all about the recent Presidential Debate. The LEFT claim victory claiming that Trump lied, fumbled, went off topic and made outlandish statements and showed his true divisive character. The RIGHT say Trump was still victorious despite being outnumbered 3 to 1 (and a possible 4th aide assisting Kamala via earpiece) and say that she was given the questions beforehand.

Relaxing Essential Oil

My computer’s sick. I don’t think it’s a virus that it caught. Neither is it spyware. I think it’s because of turning it off and inadvertently disconnecting apps from their execute commands. Waiting for my computer to move has made be very sluggish. It's like watching a plant grow. A friend shared that he’s also sluggish. Did Bill Gates just spray the atmosphere with sleeping pills? I can't think of a better time to talk about conspiracy theories.

The Red Dot

Would you recognize a miracle when it comes knocking at your door? Last Tuesday morning a deafening boom! rattled the morning skies above New York and New Jersey. It turned out to be a fireball hurling 38,000 mph above the Statue of Liberty. A local news channel said there was nothing to worry about because the meteor disintegrated 30 miles above the city. Silly people. At that speed, 30 miles is nothing. This could have been a major disaster. Millions of lives were actually spared --- including the hopes and dreams of my precious friends and families.

Annoyances

If you keep up with the news, I betcha you're just as frustrated as I am. You think you know the truth. The evidence is as clear as day and yet you see people in the "other side" spewing nonsense with authority. You look for people on "your side" to exchange the latest gossip and avoid speaking about politics with the "other side" because it takes too much drama. So each of us sits on our "safe side" and drift further and further apart.

A Forgotten Beatitude

The great debate between Biden and Trump is history. You’ll know whose predictions were accurate. And the media will have their analysts massaging the truth to their liking. I dare not contribute to the confusion so I will just share a few observations about the event.

Alferd, Where Art Though?

One reason I joined the National Press Club in 1995 was that on various occasions before Hong Kong’s handover I’d darkened the door of the FCC. I hoped that the NPC’s substantial oblong bar might be cousin to the FCC’s main bar with diverse central casting characters including criminal barristers of the Rumpole flavour, cargo shippers, pilots, politicians and others seeking what was in the wind as journalists’ tongues loosened, and vice versa.

The midterm election is just around the corner. Whether living conditions have improved or not since the last election is the normal gauge of whether one votes one way or another. In other words, if things got better since the last election, you re-elect the current establishment. If things got worse, you vote for the other guy. Simple, right? No. Not really.

Insurrection: My Prayer for Our Country

After a sick and sordid 50 year career of cheating, stealing and lying, corruptly conning banks, employees, associates, vendors, and ordinary people out of their money, ruining thousands of lives, running multiple businesses into bankruptcy, and so much more (sexual predation, incitements to mob violence, etc), mob boss wannabe Donald Trump, now buried under a mountain of lawsuits and pending criminal indictments, I believe, is certain to face trial and likely be convicted of serious crimes. Viewer discretion advised.

Carnival Beckons: A Carnival Musing for 2013

Since ancient times, new beginnings – that’s carnival. It’s our craving to shuck memories of the slings and arrows that paralyze us. New Year’s resolutions disappear in the first head wind, but carnival has been serious about new beginnings since the Greeks partied to praise Dionysus and the Romans thanked Bacchus for wine and flora, fertility heavy on their minds.
