I was in the bathroom putting on my makeup under the watchful eyes of my young granddaughter, as I'd done many times before. After I applied my lipstick and started to leave, the little one said, "But Grandma, you forgot to kiss the toilet paper goodbye!" I'll probably never put on lipstick again without thinking about kissing the toilet paper goodbye.
My high school just had a reunion but I wasn't able to attend. Thankfully, my classmates shared pictures. I recognized but a handful of people. The rest were senior strangers. I looked at the ugly guy in the mirror and I surprised even myself. My classmates wouldn't have recognized me if I bumped into them. Before it was just my baldness but now I'm noticing the age spots, the wrinkles, and especially the puffiness around my eyes.
I stared at the wrinkles in his face. Age spots have replaced the teenage pimples on his cheeks. His full jet black hair has turned sparse like naked tree branches in a wintry landscape; and there’s a growing acre of a bald spot at the top of his head which is inching its way closer to meet the receding hairline on his forehead.
Late Thursday night and I'm stuck staring at my monitor wondering what to share to my TGIF family. I originally planned to write about how well my mini-concert went last Sunday but I went to Facebook for the first time in years and I looked for photos of the event to share. And I couldn't help but notice the old man wearing my clothes and playing my guitar. The stranger with the receding white hair was me.

An elderly couple have dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives leave the table and go into the k,itchen. The two gentlemen are talking and one says, "Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly."
