The Mightiest

A LULLABY FOR TONIA

Last Friday night our neighbor came knocking at our door. From the look in her face I knew there was something wrong. She came home and found her mother lying in the carpet floor. She didn't know what to do. We tried to get her to wake up but from the sweat in her back I guessed she must have been reclined for several hours. The paramedics came and rushed her to the hospital but I knew she wouldn't make it. It was her first and last stroke. Two days later, with tubes all over her frail body, she breathed her last.

Life is fleeting. Tita Tonia (short for Antonia) was barely 65. She had so many plans. The last time I saw her, she was preparing for her driving test.

The next morning I woke up with a song in my head and I wrote it down. My wife and daughter helped me tweak the song several times. When I played it to Tonia's daughter she cried and said it was perfect. Now I've been asked to sing it during the funeral service. I was hoping others could join me sing but none are available so I will need to deliver the song alone. I've never done this before. I know my fingers will be shaking and I know my voice will falter. But I need to do this because of the message for those left behind. I could use your prayers.

I'd like to share this song with you. It's a lullaby called "Welcome, welcome home." I hope you like it. I just taped it for you so it's really rough. CLICK HERE

The Mightiest
Sent by Norm the Arcadia Accountant, CA

A lion woke up one morning feeling very rowdy and mean. He went out and cornered a small monkey and roared, "Who is the mightiest of all jungle animals?"

The trembling monkey said, "You are, mighty lion!"

Later, the lion confronted a wildebeest and fiercely bellowed, "Who is the mightiest of all jungle animals?"

The terrified wildebeest stammered, "Oh great lion, you are by far the mightiest animal in the jungle!"

On a roll now, the lion swaggered up to an elephant and roared, "Who is the mightiest of all jungle animals?"

Fast as lightning, the elephant snatched up the lion with his trunk, slammed him against a tree half a dozen times, making the lion feel like he had been run over by a safari wagon. The elephant then stomped on the lion until it looked like a corn tortilla, and ambled away.

Upon recovering consciousness, the lion let out a moan of pain, lifted his head weakly and croaked, "Geez, just because you didn't know the answer, you didn't have to get so pissed off!"

Beautiful Old barn

Remember Professor Higgins the speech spcialist in the play/movie My Fair Lady? He claimed he could tell a person's origin by the way he speaks. Well modern day Harvard students claim to have developed this online test that does just that. I think it only works in the USA. It gets pretty involved so do it if you have time to waste..

Believe it or not Budweisser spends millions to maintain their brand of horses. I think I've only seen them once in my lifetime and they are magnificent giants. This video gives the behind-the-scenes story of a superbowl commercial a few years back.
