Hidden Treasures

This week a friend of mine told me he owned an original drawing by one of the celebrated French Impressionists. He bought the artwork in a yard sale. He noticed a label at the back that said "Library of Congress" so he got curious about its authenticity. He called the LC for verification. The curator drilled him with details only the original work would possess (to safeguard against future scam artists I cannot reveal them here). Before the questioning ended, the curator wanted to get his contact information, to which he fearfully hung up. Why? As you know, one could be imprisoned for being in possession of stolen property.

Hidden Treasures. They're all over the place ... but few know where to look. This morning I heard that they found fossils of a Wooly Mamoth in the construction site of the CA Metro Blue Line and a few days earlier another Mamoth (frozen and preserved with flowing blood) was found in Siberia. I get these dreams that I'm living on top of the tomb of Tutankhamen's brother who found his way here in America. Now wouldn't that be wild?

Got troubles? Be optimistic. The wisdom gained only from experience may just be the treasure you will use for the rest of your life. A spark of an idea may be the start of something big. Remember the endless tunnel you're going through? The exit may be just a few feet away. Or perhaps even a yard sale away.

   TGIF people!

Holiday Scam Warning
This is real. No joke! --- Raoul

Please be aware that there has been an influx of scams in emails, telemarketing, websites and so-called charity institutions. I personally have been getting calls from some Police Federation, Travel promo, and Web and SEO programming/marketing services. Of course the scammer's most popular "mode of transportation " is via email. If you don't know who the email is from, be very suspicious. Hover (but do not press!) your cursor over any link within that email. The address of that link will show up (usually) somewhere at the bottom. If the URL (address) is bogus, the link will have no connection to the company it's supposed to be coming from. Just delete. If it looks legit call the number provided. If there is no telephone number, personally, I would delete it. MORE from Norton.
