Naughty Boy in Church

INSPIRATION

I listened to a good lecture just a few minutes ago. The preacher talked about becoming a servant leader. I thought I would be bored when I heard about the topic but this guy not only made it interesting but he actually dissected scripture fully and profoundly. It's a rare gift to be able to do that.

You wonder how people who study scripture for years manage to find something new all the time. But really, if you look around, we are surrounded by old ideas that are beautifully repackaged. Movie themes, music, paintings, sculpture, architecture, technology --- rarely do you find anything truly unique.

Bob Dylan, the Beatles --- they were the prophets of the 60s. In the 70s there was British historian James Burke who tied ancient concepts to modern inventions. Today I am enjoying books of a great thinker named Malcolm Gladwell. I am inspired by the art of Drew Struzan. I enjoy the speakers in TED.com. Pope Francis is another interesting character. In every age, in every discipline we are blessed with a constant flow of ideas. And for me nothing is more profound than the timeless lessons in scripture.

I just have to share some of my favorite quotations:

"The more I know, the more I know I do not know." --- Socrates

"To BE is to DO" --- Kant

"To DO is to BE" --- Sartre

"Do-be-Do-be-do" --- Sinatra

Three Short Jokes
Sent by Tom of Pasadena, CA

One Sunday in a Midwest city a young child was "acting up" during the morning worship hour.

The parents did their best to maintain some sense of order in the pew but were losing the battle. Finally, the father picked the little fellow up and walked sternly up the aisle on his way out.

Just before reaching the safety of the foyer, the little one called loudly to the congregation, "Pray for me! Pray for me!"

Beautiful Women

This is a refreshing video. It's not what you would expect from a title called Beautiful Women because it isn't about glamorous fashion model beautiful but "homey" beautiful. To me, they are what real beauty is about. Honestly, to me they are more attractive.

TGIF people! Second week of the new year is almost over!

Comments

Funny videos about sleeping animals. We had two small dogs - Shitzu - 12 yrs and a Llasa Apso - 16 years. They slept with us on the bed. Their snoring always woke me up. I did not know who snored the loudest - my hubby or the 2 dogs. They were really loud!
Also, Sinatra's Do Be Do Be Do made me laugh out loud! Really funny!
You have a good sense of humor.

Esther

Thank you bro! Good one adding Sinatra to the list.

Reminds me of my son when he was a kid.

Thanks Raoul especially the inspiration! I feel the Scriptures are a human beings operation manual. When reading it the message seems to fit the stage of life you are currently experiencing!
I love the Wisdom contained in Scripture and the Way we should conduct ourselves in society!
