Saint Patrick Special Edition

GREEN DAY

In a few winks green will be the color of the day as we celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. The pubs will be packed with red nosed beer lovin' folk. How do you celebrate this Irish tradition? I grew up in a Catholic neighborhood and we would pinch anyone who didn't wear green that day. Poor you if you forget to wear green when you leave your home in the morning because you will be targeted the whole day. And wearing an underwear that was green didn't count because it had to be clearly visible. If you think that was bad we also celebrated Saint John the Baptist Day and people would splash you with a pail of water when you weren't looking. It gets worse. When tap water got expensive, kids would collect the water from nearby canals. And these canals were stinky waste water too. Sometimes there would be floating poop just to spice the mother load. Yuck!! If you were driving your car or riding a bus, you'd be wise to roll up that window. And those who enforced this tradition were usually mischievous little boys who could run like the wind. No use chasing after them for revenge. It was a fun riotous day but many complained so I don't know if they still practice it today. Hope you enjoy your Saint Paddy Day. Be glad it isn't Saint John the Baptist Day.

Everything is funny as long as it is happening to Somebody Else.

Antiques Roadshow Goes to Ireland
Sent by Charlie of New York

Paddy took 2 stuffed dogs to Antiques Roadshow

”Ooh”, said the presenter. “This is a very rare set produced by the celebrated Johns Brothers, taxidermists who operated in London at the turn of last century. Do you have any idea what they would fetch if they were in good condition?”

“Sticks”, said Paddy

Irish Jokes
Sent by Peter Paul of South Pasadena, CA

Mañana
Señor Jose Pedro Castillo used the word ‘MAÑANA’. When Paddy O'Brien asked what that meant, Jose said it means “maybe the job will be done tomorrow, maybe the next day, maybe the day after that, next week, next month or next year ... who cares?!”

Paddy was then asked if there’s an Irish equivalent. “No. In Ireland we don’t have a miserable word to describe that level of urgency”

Irish Logic
Two Irishmen met and one said to the other, “Have ye seen Mulligan lately, Paddy?”

Paddy said, “Well, I have and I haven’t.”

His friend asked, “well what d’ye mean by that?”

Paddy said, “It’s like this, y’see … I saw a chap who I thought was Mulligan, and he saw a chap that he thought was me. And when we got up to one another … it was neither of us.”

Gibberish Accents

Gibberish accent

I got a kick out of this one. Have you ever wondered how you sound to people who don't speak your language? This young lady shows what different ethnicities sound to her. She's not a linguist. She just does the accents pretty well. She could represent us when the aliens finally invade earth just like Obama's translator in South Africa.
