REFLECTIONS OF LIFE

In a reflective mood today. How has your week been? Same old ... same old? For me this week has been an interesting display of lives passing by. Many are facing difficulties. Some ask for money, some ask for favors, some are even more desperate.
Someone is so self-centered and oblivious to the "log in his/her eyes" while criticizing the other for not conforming to his/her perfect world. They have no patience for each other and are easily rattled into their mood swings. In the opposite end the partner is afraid to demand because of years of verbal abuse. For the sake of quiet coexistence, he/she has lost the will to confront. What's the point in talking to a wall, right? Too bad. There's so much they could learn from each other.
One of my basketball buddies will be having an operation today for cancer. Another friend's wife "was ascended to heaven" last Monday.
Go to a public area. Imagine what people are thinking. What are they going through? How big is the mask they carry? Even the little ones learn to hide their home secrets.
I was at the checkout counter with a load of groceries and I let a Mom and her daughter go ahead of me since she was only purchasing one bottle of liquor. The little girl said hello. The mother asked how come she knew me and I said I teach her in Sunday school. It was an awkward moment.
I was feeling down because of the impossibility of helping everyone. Then I realized what Jesus did. With a flick of his finger, he could have eradicated the problems of the world. But he didn't. I guess he wants us to pass through our challenges and allow others to pass through theirs in order to grow.
The good Lord put us in this test tube called life for a reason, And whatever that reason, it has to be for our good. I think I can live with that.

I'm not sure how you would classify this but I thought this was pretty interesting and I think this is a fitting end to this week's borderline political entires. Just watch the video.

Appreciated your new vivid style in your drawings. Also the musings about life. But our audio is still out of whack so can't enjoy them. O well.....liked what you said about txting while driving and getting to meet Jesus sooner. I warned our driver about that this week.

Thanks Raoul, Your words of Wisdom always appreciated and the intro is thought provoking and I find them to be good things to put into practice.

I met a lady that I swim with and we were at a social event (suit and tie required) and she said hello. I could not place her and finally I blurted out , " Oh I did not recognize you with your clothes on. "

Now that is embarrassing.

Tom

It is true that the Lord puts people in your path, and I love that you crossed mine Raoul.

Hey Raoul,

How about this better: "Honk if you love Jesus; Text while driving to meet el diablo."

Just a thought - Satan would approve of texting while driving, walking, etc. or any other disconnect from real life...

(:>}) - Chuck

There is already a commercial application for that train - it is called the MAGLEV train, works on the same principle. Shanghai has one.

It's a gift to be so sensitive to the angst of this world. For me, rather this; than indifference, the lukewarmness that the Lord says he will vomit. But it is a burden too, which any loving person has to recognize comes from a Father who understands . "No estais solo!" You are not alone!

love,

Dette
